Mild Fire Season Leads to Cheaper Lumber Prices

The summer of 2012 was a very mild fire season, compared to years prior, and that means that lumber stocks are quite abundant. With a high supply, we will start to see the prices of lumber drop. The drop in price will probably be small -- a few cents on a large load -- but will make a difference in the market. With lower prices, we are sure to see more renovations and new construction projects in 2013.
